Cypriot Citizenship

Criteria for non-EU investors who wish to obtain Cypriot Citizenship through Naturalisation by Exception:

An applicant can obtain Citizenship via satisfying any one of the criteria in the categories listed below:

 

A. The applicant must have invested the amount of €5,000,000 in one of the following:

  • Republic of Cypurs Government Bonds.

  • Financial assets of Cypriot companies or other Cypriot Organisations

  • Real estate, developments or infrastructure projects.

  • Acquiring or incorporating or participating in companies residing and operating within the Republic of Cyprus.

  • Personal fixed term deposits for three years in Cypriot banks or deposits of privately owned companies or trusts (in which he/she is the beneficial owner) in the Republic of Cyprus.

  • In a combination of any of the above criteria.

 

B. An applicant who has suffered an impaired deposit in Laiki Bank amounting to at least €3.000.000 may also apply. An applicant who has suffered an impaired deposit of a lesser sum can apply after making investment through the above criteria for the remaining requested amount of the specific criteria.

 

C. The Council of Ministers has the right, in exceptional cases, to decrease the above investment amount required in categories listed above for investors who can demonstrate they participate in a collective investment scheme the total investment of which is at least €12.500.000.
